Abstract: The purpose of this research is to assess the feasibility of designing a comprehensive model for a judicial inspection body that would contribute equally to ensuring judicial independence and judicial accountability, as a mechanism for exercising sound judicial self-governance. Achieving this objective was made possible through a comparative examination of how entities with specific judicial inspection functions are organized and operate in several legal systems, as well as through an interpretation of relevant international standards. In conclusion, we found that it is impossible to design a universal model for a judicial inspection body. This, however, does not preclude the possibility of institutionalizing a judicial inspection body suited to a specific judicial system and a specific legal system, with a continuous focus on reforming that body within the broader context of strengthening the judiciary.
