Summary: Thediplomatic immunityof a diplomatic agent does not imply impunity for that agent: the diplomatic agent is subject to the criminal jurisdiction of the sending State if the receiving State waives his or her immunity; the receiving state has the option to declare the diplomatic agent persona non grata; the diplomatic agent remains subject to the criminal jurisdiction of the sending state; diplomatic immunity does not protect the diplomatic agent from the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court in cases of international crimes.
