Abstract: This article highlights the need to systematize the study of legal writing in Romania through an analysis that begins with the definition and classification of this discipline, continues with its global evolution, and then presents the evolution of the study and teaching of legal writing in an international context as well as in Romania. In a first effort to systematize legal writing in Romania, the article also presents the fundamental principles that every lawyer or law student should master. The main sections of the article outline the conceptual framework necessary for future systematic and coherent approaches to legal writing in Romania.
