Despite the use of inappropriate terminology, the new Romanian Criminal Code includes provisions criminalizing international crimes under international criminal law. At the same time, the provisions regarding universal jurisdiction, surrender to an international criminal court, and the non-applicability of statutes of limitations to international crimes are not always rigorous.
