This study aims to analyze the evolution of international law from antiquity through the Middle Ages. After identifying the characteristics of international law prior to the Middle Ages, the study presents the social and legal characteristics of the transformation of ancient international law into medieval international law, the specific nature of the transformation of the norms and principles of international law from early antiquity, as well as the issues surrounding the transformation of legal institutions from early antiquity to the end of the Middle Ages.
